How the Event Will Work
This event is your opportunity to connect with Financial Services employers and expand your professional network.
We’ve set you up to virtually network one-on-one with three employer representatives from three different Financial Services organizations.
We’ve paired you up with reps who can speak to the field(s) you are most interested in!
Networking Logistics for Students
This is SPEED NETWORKING! You will have 3 networking conversations, each being 8-minutes in length in a 1-hour period. Here’s how it will work:
- There are four Breakout rooms (BOND, INVEST, SHARE or GROW) and two Sessions (SESSION 1 from 5:22pm to 6:15pm, and SESSION 2 from 6:15pm to 7:22pm). You’ve been assigned to a specific Breakout room and Session. It’s essential that you arrive in the proper room and session, as this is where your assigned networking matches will take place.
- Check Your Speed Networking Schedule in the Event Details e-mail to confirm your Breakout room and Session number.
- If you’re in SESSION 1, please proceed directly to the Breakout rooms following the Welcome & Introduction on the Main Stage. You will have time to explore the portal when you complete your networking conversations.
- If you’re in SESSION 2, you can explore the videos and resources on the portal for the first hour of the event. However, at 6:15pm, please proceed directly to your Breakout room to start your speed networking session.
- When you select a Breakout room, you will be prompted to enter an MS Teams environment. Please use Teams within the Google Chrome browser, not the app. Please ensure you enter your name exactly as you did on the event registration form (and as shown in your e-mail) so our technical team can correctly assign you to your networking conversations.
- During your session, you will have three, 8-minute conversations with employer representatives, at the times indicated on your networking schedule.
- Our technical team will automatically move you to your assigned conversation table when the chat begins.
- You will have 4 minutes in-between conversations while our technical team sets up for the next round. We encourage you to jot down your notes from the previous conversation during this time.
- In some cases, you will have a slightly longer break (i.e., 12 minutes between your networking chats). We recommend using this downtime to:
- Further reflect on your previous networking chats
- Take a bio break
- Prep for your next networking chat
- At the end of the speed networking sessions, we’ll convene all participants back in the Main Stage area to close the event.
