Join the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) and listen to the livestream of a regulatory discussion focused on the CSA Collaboratory’s second theme: tokenization.
Building on the discussion in Calgary, the Toronto event is intended to bring together stakeholders and members of the CSA to obtain practical input on tokenization in capital markets. The Toronto workshop will include discussions about key existing and potential use cases that can reduce costs or improve efficiencies, legal questions requiring further analysis and resolution, friction points with existing securities laws, and topics that could benefit from regulatory guidance.
A half-day regulatory workshop exploring tokenization, competitiveness, market infrastructure, and interoperability.
Objective: Seek stakeholder input on competitiveness and the areas of potential growth, including new retail products.
Objective: Discuss how tokenized securities can trade and settle, how they can interact with DeFi protocols (e.g., DEXs, used as collateral), and what market infrastructure and market design considerations arise (e.g., liquidity, collateralization, settlement, and integration with regulated tokenized asset platforms).
Objective: Examine interoperability needs and approaches in tokenized markets, including how tokenized systems can operate alongside traditional market infrastructure during a transition period and how cross-chain connectivity can be supported.
The CSA Collaboratory is a dedicated space for regulators and innovators to leverage and channel collective intelligence in support of Canada’s evolving capital markets. It is the entry point for all Canadian market participants and investors to connect with CSA members to explore and provide feedback on new financial concepts and innovative business models.
Insights from the Collaboratory can contribute significantly to regulatory policy development and provide market participants with data that can help inform decision-making.
